About Cathy Russ
My husband Tim and I have been residents of Pacific County for 15 years. We are small land owners, bordered by a creek and river, where we raise cows and harvest hay. As small farmers we understand the struggles many of our neighbors face. Choosing to live in a rural county, Tim and I have always been involved in many community activities, believing this is a way to give back and hopefully make a difference. If elected, I will focus on the issues facing our residents and businesses. It has always been my interest to listen to you and work to solve the problems that matter to you and yours.
Entering the workforce in 1996 I worked for Pacific County, first in the Assessor’s Office and later transferring to the Department of Community Development. Here I gained a diverse knowledge of our county’s activities. In 2002 I began a career with the Pacific County Economic Development Council, a non-profit organization. During my nine years, five have been as the Executive Director, I have worked with residents, businesses and industries to hear their needs. I have been successful in working with partners for the development of workshops and conferences. I have full responsibilities for the organizations operations, state and federal grants, I have developed a broad network of resources, an understanding of our natural resource industries, workforce issues and educational needs. These are key to being a strong voice for area residents and businesses in their effort to improve their lives. Other past work experiences include owning a private business, working in commercial property management, and handling statistical reporting for New Mexico State University.
I will bring 35 years working experience with 15 years of working knowledge of Pacific County issues, established relationships, and experience collaborating with cities, county, state and federal agencies, and their representatives, to strengthen our County as a great place to live and do business, and helping them keep in touch with our residents’ needs.
I’m not shy when it comes to talking about Pacific County and with my experience and your support, I will be your County Commissioner #3!
At the end of the day, I will continue to represent Pacific County honestly and fairly, and address the concerns of residents. I will take the responsibility of serving as County Commisioner seriously, and I look forward to using my talents and being your voice as Commissioner for District #3. PLEASE VOTE FOR ME!
